OUR PROGRAMS

The Greater Enrichment Program provides a loving and safe environment beyond school hours where children have the opportunity to do their homework, improve academic skills and socialize with friends. GEP provides stimulating and fun activities that help children develop into healthy, well-rounded youth. GEP site directors, teachers and school administrators work together to ensure that our programs supplement the learning that takes place during the school day.

 

 

STEM PROGRAMMING

A variety of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) opportunities are provided weekly to GEP students through community partnerships. Students explore in science centers, engage in hands-on computer activities, go on field trips and participate in diverse workshops that expose them to the STEM curriculum.

 

CULTURAL ENRICHMENT

GEP introduces students to a variety of cultural experiences through visits to and field trips to museums, zoos, theaters and entertainment centers.

 

An array of visual and performing arts opportunities including Charlotte Youth Ballet and Arts Plus. Students participate in creative dance, art and music workshops.

 

CHARACTER EDUCATION

Five core values of character education (responsibility, cooperation, respect, consideration and caring) are promoted and used at GEP.

 

HEALTH/FITNESS & SPORTS

GEP is an official National Junior Tennis League (NJTL). Participants engage and weekly aerobics, healthy cooking and nutrition workshops.

 

COMMUNITY SERVICE

GEP believes in giving back to the community. Therefore, all students and parents are required to participate community service projects throughout the year, including a Thanksgiving food drive, Earth Day projects, Red Cross blood drive cookie donations and the Department of Social Services Easter basket program.
